In Kamikochi in 2025, transportation will be opened on April 17 (Thursday), making it possible for the general public to enter the mountain.
In addition, on April 27 (Sun), the 55th Kamikochi Kaizan Festival will be held at the base of Kappa Bridge, and attractions such as Arphorn performances and dedication lion dances will be planned.
At Kamikochi, which spreads at an altitude of about 1,500m, clear air and magnificent mountains welcome visitors.
With the arrival of spring, the perfect season for strolling and hiking begins.
It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes by car from Mercure Nagano Matsushiro Resort & Spa to Sawando parking lot.
From there, you can access Kamikochi by shuttle bus.
Although there is a little distance, it is also recommended for stays that combine both previous and post-night stays.
